After what can only be described as a whirlwind of a year ā packed with weddings, parties, corporate events, and more miles on the van than weād care to count ā the Sounds International Discos team decided it was finally time to slow things down.
And what better way to recharge than a trip to the sunshine-soaked shores of Tenerife?
This wasnāt just a quick getaway, it was a well-earned reward for months of hard work, late nights, and countless dancefloors. A chance to swap soundchecks for sunsets, and playlists for palm trees.
āWeāve had such a full-on year,ā says Sean. āItās been absolutely amazing, wedding after wedding, event after event, but by the time autumn rolled around, we were definitely running on fumes. Tenerife was the perfect reset button!ā
Total Relaxation⦠Almost š
From the moment we arrived, we could feel the stress melting away. Warm evenings, golden beaches, and that unmistakable laid-back island energy, it was exactly what we needed.
Days were spent lounging by the pool, exploring the local markets, and finding hidden gems off the beaten track. The food? Incredible. From fresh seafood to local tapas and ice-cold cervezas by the sea, Tenerife knows how to keep you smiling.

But of course, being DJs⦠we didnāt justĀ spend the week relaxing.
Somehow, we found ourselves back on the dancefloor, this time as the ones doingĀ the dancing (and not necessarily doing it well!).
āI think we surprised a few people,ā Martin laughs. āWeāre usually the ones behind the decks, not in the middle of the floor trying to remember how to move our feet! Letās just say our dancing is more enthusiasmĀ than technique.ā
As the nights went on, the music got louder, the moves got looser, and letās be honest, a few of us might have enjoyed ourselves a little too much! But thatās what holidays are all about, right? Letting go, laughing until your sides hurt, and forgetting what day of the week it is.
āI think thatās what made it so special,ā Sean adds. āIt wasnāt just about relaxing, it was about having fun, being silly, and remembering what itās like to enjoy music purely for the joy of it.ā

Reflection, Recharging & A Bit of Perspective š
Amid the laughter and late nights, there were quieter moments too. Sitting by the ocean as the sun set, talking about the year so far, and everything still to come.
It gave us both a chance to reflect, not just on the business, but on the people, memories, and energy that have made this year so incredible.
āWeāve been so lucky,ā Sean says. āTo be part of so many amazing weddings, events, and celebrations, itās a privilege. But itās also non-stop. This break reminded us how important it is to pause, recharge, and look back at how far weāve come.ā
Martin adds, āItās easy to get caught up in the next gig, the next setup, the next playlist⦠but sitting there watching the waves, you realise how lucky we are to do what we love. It was a reset, mentally, creatively, and physically.ā

Ready for Whatās Next š„
With our batteries fully recharged (and our tans still hanging on), weāve come back buzzing with energy and ideas for the months ahead. Tenerife gave us everything we needed ā sunshine, laughter, connection, and clarity.
Weāre ready to hit the ground running, bringing the same energy, positivity, and passion to every event weāre part of ā just with slightly better-rested faces!
āSometimes you donāt realise how much you need a break until you take one,ā Martin says. āNow weāre back, refreshed, focused, and honestly, just more grateful than ever.ā
Tenerife, thank you for the sunshine, the smiles, and the dancefloors that reminded us how good it feels to be on the otherĀ side of the decks for once.
Hereās to more adventures, more laughter, and maybe a few more ānon-dancingā moves somewhere down the line. šš¶
